A few late projects snuck in today - just in time for the deadline!
Some of the artwork created in Room 212 for a contest hosted by the city of Orillia is being recognized by some local businesses and organizations!
How exciting to see our hard work being acknowledged by those in our community! We've now had two snow days consecutively with the possibility of a third looming.
Your children have three projects to work on while tucked away safely at home: 1) Math Patterning Project - Braille and Symbol Language 2) Novel Study Journal Entries (3 entries to be complete by Friday) 3) Restaurant Menu in French and English We will not be doing the unit test for Patterning tomorrow, it has been postponed until Friday. I'm hoping everyone is keeping warm! Mlle Rolston The city of Orillia is having a competition for local students to help re-brand the City of Orillia. The kids in Room 212 have created their submissions in our Art class for the past two weeks! We used French to write what was special to us about Orillia, and of course our amazing artistic skills were also being used!
Enjoy looking at some of the great work our students have been producing :) Tomorrow evening the blog will not update as I will beat the school until after 8PM doing Parent-Teacher Conferences. I will be sure to post any week's end news on Friday morning before Conferences begin again.
During the Conference: Your student will be asked to show you some of their work, we will review some of your child's unique Prodigy results and we will do a little tour of the classroom to show you some of the displayed work. You will have some time to voice any positive feedback or concerns on the Progress Report as well. This is meant to be a positive experience to highlight your child's success in Grade 5. As a Parent-Teacher team we also want to work together at the Conference to build a plan to turn some of their areas of need into positive learning and growth! I'm very happy to have met with some families already, and I'm looking forward to the next few days as well!!! Progress Reports have been sent home! Please review, and discuss the progress report with your child!
Most families have already booked a time for their upcoming Parent-Teacher Conference. Please note that there are no further available appointments on Thursday, November 13th. If Friday, mid-morning does not suit you or your family please email me, send a message on Class Dojo, or leave a comment in the Contact section of the blog so that we can schedule a time outside of the set Parent-Teacher conference timeframe. You can also leave a message in the Agenda! The students in Room 212 worked hard all week leading up to Halloween to decorate our entrance. We participated in a school-wide contest to win a Pizza Party, but sadly did not win the prize. As you can see, our decor is beautifully done and in my eyes we were definitely Number 1!
I'm so proud at how amazing our door looked, and thought that every parent should have a chance to see it before we begin our Winter Themed door! |
